The continued development and growth of Energy Action is due in no small way to the co-operation and support of many people. The considerable input by the Board of Directors is particularly gratifying. Without their wholehearted and enthusiastic response to the various activities, and their expertise in so many facets of the operation, it would be impossible to function effectively. The staff of Energy Action, despite the many losses and changes in key personnel, has continued to be a major factor in our efficient operation. Special credit is due to the various supervisors, who have had to cope with the many staff changes throughout the year. The need to maintain production, develop new skills and programmes and at the same time constantly train new people has been difficult for them and their input is acknowledged with gratitude. The continued support of FÁS is, of course, crucial, and is hereby sincerely acknowledged. Sustainable Energy Ireland, previously known as the Irish Energy Centre, has been most helpful, and their continued assistance and financial support is gratefully acknowledged. Thanks are due to the Department of Public Enterprise, Dublin Corporation, South Dublin County Council and various other Local Authorities for on-going support. The Department of Social, Community and Family Affairs assistance in relation to our growing Home Security Service is an important development and is gratefully acknowledged. The ADM has been instrumental in enabling us share our training, concern for the community and the environment and our policies with many other groups around the country, and we believe that the spread of energy conservation systems is a most important task for the whole nation. The support of the Energy Research Group, University College Dublin, under Prof. Owen Lewis, and the Environmental Institute, under Prof. Frank Convery, in the preparation of the "Homes for the 21st Century" Report is hereby also acknowledged with thanks. Our gratitude is also extended to both the Report Steering Committee and Advisory Committee for their invaluable contributions. Combat Poverty Agency has been very supportive, not only in funding, but also in the invaluable assistance, advice and mentoring they provided. We are very grateful. The Ireland Funds have also been most supportive, both in terms of finance and monitoring, and we express our gratitude. Many other bodies and individuals, notably ESB, have also provided invaluable assistance, advice and mentoring and we are grateful to them all. Without the support of these and others it would not be possible to maintain the levels of service to older citizens and disadvantaged people.
