WHO WILL BENEFIT IF YOU SUPPORT ENERGY ACTION? Fuel poverty affects large numbers of low-income households, from young families to pensioners living alone, and from inner-city dwellers to those in isolated rural communities. Mr. Larry Murphy is 85 years of age, living alone in Inishfallen Parade, Dublin 7. His house is 100 years old. When he got married he bought the house for £750. He was very proud of his house and at that time it was very "modern". Being a handyman, he was able to maintain his house, but as he got older, climbing ladders etc. became more difficult. He had to pay for any essential repairs and even then the workers were costly and not reliable. An employee of Energy Action working in the area referred him to have work carried out. Within a week of the work being completed he wrote to us: "Dear Mr. Roarty, I would be more than delighted for you to use my letter
any way that you like. My That good thought and action came to me when 'out of the blue' my little draughty home has become for me a cosy little palace. Need I say again, Thank You and all those good people. I would only be delighted if I could be in any way a help to make their great good work known. Again just let me say, 'Thank You to your Energy Crew'. to know that there are people like them in this old world of ours has given me a great mental lift up. I will end my letter by saying "God Bless Each and Every One of You" Larry Murphy". Another happy customer writes:
Sir, They are a credit to themselves and Energy Action. Thanking all concerned.
"Dear Sir, I will appreciate it more in the winter months ahead. Their devotion to their work was admirable. There was no mess and finished in no time at all. Your Sincerely Catherine Redmond"
Many Thanks Your Sincerely Harriet"
The two men did great work, not one piece of dirt left anywhere around the house. It was a pleasure for me & many, many thanks, Bridie Power
