This provides information on work opportunities and how to
find them.
· You select those three jobs which you think would be most
suitable for you to do.
· You then move on to decide on your long and short term
career objectives, the main areas of work you wish to be involved
in and the needs that these will satisfy.
· Since you have chosen the job which you feel is most suitable
for you then you must find out all the different aspects of
that job. This requires filling out a checklist regarding
prospects, conditions and the kind of organisation that it
is. This section concludes with a vocational profile summary
chart which requires that you list details of personal skills,
work environment, job choices and so on.
Analyse three suitable jobs.
Select three jobs which you think would, broadly speaking,
be suited to you. This is not meant to be a definitive choice,
so if you are not sure list some jobs which you think may
be worth considering.

If you have difficulty coming up with job types, ask the
group to make their suggestions for the type of job that they
think might suit your skills.
Deciding on a job or work area.
In this exercise you have to choose a job or career path
you would like to work towards. The path or route should be
broken down into the here and now that is short term objective
within the next 12 months, and your long term objective between
2 - 5 years.
The short term choice ought to be seen as a stepping stone
to the long term choice.
