Action Plan

"What to do and how"

You have now reached the stage where you can decide on the most appropriate action plan

  • or in other words what to do and how to do it when it comes to the strategy used to find a job.
  • Rather than following the usual procedure of job hunting you will instead go through the three most effective steps which greatly increase the odds of your getting employment.
  • You will list possible employers once you have decided upon the preferred geographic location and having selected a wide range of companies, you will choose 20-30 of the most interesting ones.
  • Next you will go on and list your 5 main work targets detailing the skills needed, contacts, locations and first steps which must be taken in order to secure work.
  • Finally you will decide on a career plan for the week giving yourself a time scale in order to decide who you contact, when, and with what purpose.

At the beginning of each week fill out a weekly action plan, who are you to contact and when with what purpose in mind. Review the weeks activities, and adjust the following week accordingly.

Maintaining motivation and interest is probably the most difficult and at the same time the most essential aspect of the job search to keep going.
